5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!, February 2, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Dyson Home Cleaning Kit (Kitchen)
I bought this accessory kit when the small brush attachment for my Dyson Animal accidentally got crushed. I LOVE these brushes. The hard bristled brush is great for tile grout, outdoor/automotive carpet or having to 'scrub' brush something clean. The, what I call "Funky Brush", is great for typical brush vacuuming. I call it "Funky" because of the swivel head. It takes some practice to master using it to it's full potential, but it's worth it once you do. It's great when you have an awkward space to vacuum in such as crevice/corner under cabinets. It worked great vacuuming all the hard to get and odd shaped places in our motorhome. The dusting brush is probably my favorite and therefore most used tool. It is super soft which makes it great for vacuuming delicate items such as knick knacks and picture frames. It has a bit of velvet on the underside for easier pet hair and lint pick up. We live in the raw Arizona desert, so I have to dust everything quite often. I use this to dust our... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars I love my Dyson even more!, June 23, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Dyson Home Cleaning Kit (Kitchen)
I LOVE my Dyson (DC25 Animal), but it does have limits as to the surfaces it can clean and the spaces it can reach. This set of tools solves all of my problems. Yes, they are expensive, but they save me so much time and aggravation that they are worth EVERY penny. Period. As much as I loved my Dyson before, I love it even more now.

The tools themselves are lightweight. They fit on my Dyson perfectly: they are easy to put on and off and they do not come off on their own. The soft dusting brush has some bristles coming out of it, but we use it all of the time so I feel it shows signs of normal wear and tear. The multi-angle brush glides smoothly and does not have any hang-ups. The stiff bristle brush is great for the carpet in our vehicle and for picking up pet hair where the carpet meets the wall.

I also find the Dyson mattress tool to be very useful and I think it makes an excellent addition to this kit.

3.0 out of 5 stars LOVE/HATE relationship with Dyson tools, April 5, 2011
This review is from: Dyson Home Cleaning Kit (Kitchen)
I am torn about this product, which is why I gave it three stars. I have a love/hate relationship with this set.

First, the price point is ridiculous, in my opinion. I don't think it is a good value. But when you buy a BMW you have to pay for BMW parts and so it is the same for a Dyson. That is why it lost one star from me. That said, the construction is noteworthy, as usual with a Dyson product. I have not had it long enough to test whether it will stand the test of time. If the delicate bristles of the duster are still in like-new shape in a year or so after regular use? I will say it was worth every penny.

Second, I have two Dysons. I have the DC-17 Animal and the DC-24. The power of this set and especially the dusting attachment is to be able to use it without the telescoping nozzle. It fits wonderfully with my DC-24, which by design is has a more complicated set up. However, even with the attachment piece, there is not a way for the attachments... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars What falls away, January 11, 2001
    By
George (Philadelphia, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dyson Sphere (Star Trek: The Next Generation, No. 50) (Mass Market Paperback)
This review refers to the original version of the book, which was approved by Paramount for publication and which was mysteriously gutted by Pocket Books on the eve of publication - -without either author's knowledge or consent. I, like many readers, am familiar with the superior works of both authors and as I trudged through these seemingly misconnected chapters I could not escape the feeling that huge pieces were missing. Conversations would break off unexpectedly, then start off somewhere else - with different people! It was as if a good movie had been given over to Ed Wood for editing (or to the writers' worst enemy). One of the authors (Pellegrino) is a professional engineer and archaeologist and I could not imagine how a book in which the Captain of the Enterprise, an archaeologist at heart, is given charge of a most amazing archaeology expedition - - the Dyson Sphere, and the archaeology of the Borg - - could possibly go so wrong. I approached Pellegrino about this and he... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars A better book than it is credit for., May 7, 1999
    By A Customer
This review is from: Dyson Sphere (Star Trek: The Next Generation, No. 50) (Mass Market Paperback)
I don't know what so many people seem to think is wrong with this book. I thought the Horta crew was interesting, since there never was much talk about the Horta since their main episode. Picard kept in character with his need to go into the sphere and be the archeology lover he is. Though some characters didn't say much, that does not take away from the story. There doesn't need to be a chapter per character to be a good novel. The science was very evident, the authors obviously did their research. The sphere itself was well-described, and the manakin people showed evidence of new life beginning, and unfortunately a quick ending. Using the sphere in a story was a good idea, and I enjoyed it. All in all, it was an excellent book, and don't be afraid to try it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Needed more paper., October 20, 1999
    By
Brandon Hume (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dyson Sphere (Star Trek: The Next Generation, No. 50) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book takes on concepts that are on par with the Rama books, but unfortunately doesn't go anywhere with it. The situations the crew encounters are mind-boggling and VERY nifty. The book does very well describing the immensity of an object like the Sphere, and coming up with unique things that might occur with such an object. Unfortunately, no sooner are you just getting interested in something than the crew runs away to do something else.

You'll find yourself saying, "Uh...WHAT?" often as you read this book, as the crew makes wild speculation on everything and running with it as though it were proven fact. They frequently add zero and zero to get elephants, and it gets tiring after a while. Guinan shows up, for no apparent purpose than to wander around and periodically say something mysterious.

The text of the book itself seems to imply authors with good talent, who were trying to meet a deadline. "Dyson Sphere" is a trilogy of thick books,... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Fine, June 5, 2010
    Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Dyson DC07 Brush bar for vaccum cleaner (Kitchen)
Needed to replace the old brush because hair & lint bunged up one of the ends and melted it and made it hard to turn (which then also burned out the clutch). This is not an OEM part, but then it is also half the price. It looks (and fits) absolutely identical to the brush it replaced, other than color (and you have to admit, this goes with the gaudy Dyson color schemes much better than a plane black one). Quality of the product seems good.

NOTE there are two versions of this brush, one for DC07/14's without a clutch, and one for with. The description does not say, but this is for the cleaners with the clutch (with the bare floor / carpet knob). The brush for cleaners without a clutch looks markedly different and don't look interchangeable.

This is a fine replacement for the original Dyson beater bar. It's virtually identical and certainly works as well. Note that this replacement is for vacuums with floor and carpet settings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Identical to Dyson original brush/roller, November 10, 2010
    Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Dyson DC07 Brush bar for vaccum cleaner (Kitchen)
Our Dyson DC07 is about 5 years old and the bristles on the brushes started wearing down next to nothing. As everyone has already found out, Dyson does not offer replacement brushes...I guess they want you to buy a new vacuum. This is a knock-off, but it fits perfectly and other than the color, we didn't see any difference. We've been using the vaccum over 3 weeks now with the new brush/roller, and have had no problems. Installing it didn't take long, and am happy with the purchase. Would definitely recommend.
